About This Product

■Summary

Liquid crystal variable retarder allows you to obtain desired retardation by electrically controlling nematic liquid crystal. The compatible wavelength range is wide from 350 to 1,700 nm, so there is no need to prepare a wave plate for each wavelength as in the past. Since the retardation can be switched quickly, the polarization can be changed quickly. The dedicated driver for driving can control two ARCoptix liquid crystal elements from software.

■Supports wide wavelength range

Liquid crystal variable retarder is an element that can provide arbitrary retardation in the wavelength range of 350 to 1,700 nm. By controlling the applied voltage, you can create the optimal retardation that matches the wavelength.

■Dedicated LC driver

The liquid crystal variable retarder is driven by a dedicated LC driver (power supply) or function generator. The dedicated LC driver is small and lightweight, connects via USB, and controls the applied voltage from software. The voltage applied to the liquid crystal polarization retarder is 0V or 10V, and accurate voltage control is required. The LC drive driver comes with DLL and Labview VI for software development.

■Physical and chemical grade and industrial grade

The industrial grade features low cost and a large aperture of 22mm, making it suitable for polarization control and polarization imaging applications. Holder not included. On the other hand, the physical and chemical grade has features such as low wavefront distortion, high phase accuracy, and AR coating. It is also attached to a special holder.
