About This Product

■Summary

Measures work function and ionization potential in the atmosphere without contact. Excitation light (3.4-7eV) is irradiated and photoelectrons/atmospheric ions are detected with a Φ2mm probe brought close to the sample surface. A similar measurement method, photoconductivity, measures the optical bandgap, while photoelectron spectroscopy detects electrons above the vacuum level and evaluates the absolute value of the work function. By adding a light source module, the excitation energy range can be expanded from the ultraviolet to the near-infrared region. A Kelvin probe tip is used in the photoelectron detection section, and relative work functions can also be measured using the Kelvin probe method using gold as a reference. It can be used to evaluate not only organic EL and organic solar cells but also various materials.

・Measurement of absolute value of work function by photoelectron yield spectroscopy (PYS) ・Relative work function measurement using Kelvin probe is also possible. ・UV light source energy range 3.4 to 7.0 eV (176 to 360 nm) ・Atmospheric/non-contact measurement ・Measure ionization potential (EV) and Fermi level (EF) with one device (band gap (EG) measurement available as an option)

■Measurement principle

・Detect photoelectrons/atmospheric ions with a probe that is irradiated with ultraviolet light and brought close to the sample surface - Sweeping the energy of ultraviolet light, the threshold at which photoelectron/atmospheric ion emission begins is the work function.

■About high precision LUMO level

Can be combined with an inverse photoelectron spectroscopy device (product of ALS Technology Co., Ltd.). High-precision LUMO levels can also be measured.
