About This Product

■Product overview

In general, mid-infrared light is considered difficult to detect because the photon energy of mid-infrared light is small and it is easily affected by the thermal noise of the detector. By adopting upconversion technology, NLIR has realized a method of converting mid-infrared light into visible light and detecting it as visible light. Unlike conventional detection, detection sensitivity, response, and noise level can be suppressed. NLIR has enabled sampling rates of 10 GHz, detection of nanosecond pulses, and tracking of chemical reactions in the nanosecond range. We also succeeded in reducing the NEP (noise equivalent power) to a minimum of 10 fW/√Hz. This exceeds cooled MCT detection and InSb.

■Features

・Select from the wavelength range of 2.2 to 5.0 μm/4,545 to 2,000 cm-1 (New option: center wavelength tunable 2.7 to 4.5 μm/3,703 to 2,222 cm-1) ・DC to 10 GHz bandwidth ・NEP 10 fW/√Hz ・Uses upconversion technology

■Applications

・Detection of nanosecond pulsed light sources ・DIAL (differential absorption LIDAR) ・Chemical dynamics research applications ・Weak mid-infrared light detection ・Gas detection
