About This Product

■Photoionization high-intensity vacuum ultraviolet light source Product overview

The photoionization high-brightness vacuum ultraviolet light source E-Lux™ (manufactured by Excitech) is a light source based on a revolutionary principle that emits light by exciting high-purity rare gases and halogen gases with a low-pressure electron beam. The VUV plasma emission point generated by this method is extremely small, with a minimum size of 1 mm3, and a high photon flux of up to 2 x 1,016 photons/s sr nm cm2 (during CW oscillation). When used in combination with the optional focusing optical system unit E-Lux™-EEE, highly efficient VUV spot irradiation is possible. There are 5 types of photon energies: 7.2eV, 8.4eV, 9.8eV, and 10.7eV, and you can set CW/pulse oscillation switching, light intensity, pulse width, repetition frequency, and trigger. Both the light source head and condensing optical system unit are equipped with KF40 vacuum flanges, making installation easy.

■High photon flux

・CW oscillation: max. 2×1,016photons/s sr nm cm2 ・Pulse oscillation: Maximum 2×1,018photons/s sr nm cm2 (approximately 100 times that of CW oscillation)

■Setting parameters

・Output intensity setting ・Oscillation mode setting (CW mode, pulse mode) ・Pulse width setting (1~100μs, 1ms~CW) ・Repetition frequency setting (maximum 10kHz) ・Trigger settings

■Main uses and applications

・High-efficiency photoionization light source for ion movement and mass spectrometry ・SPI-GC/MS: One-photon ionization gas chromatography mass spectrometry ・APPI-LC/MS: Atmospheric pressure photoionization liquid chromatography mass spectrometry ・For photophysics and photochemistry research ・For laboratory preliminary experiments of synchrotron experiments ・Surface treatment (polymer curing/matting, photochemical vapor deposition, surface cleaning/etching) ・Surface metrology (spectral reflectance measurement, ellipsometry) ・Medical applications (tissue engineering, biomaterial chemistry)
