About This Product

■Hybrid tuner

This device is a two-opening circuit element that is connected in the middle of a waveguide circuit and is designed to generate any impedance. This device consists of three parts: an adapter, a sidewall type 3dB coupler, and a double movable short circuit. The microwave entering from terminal I is split into two by the 3dB coupler, and then reflected by the shorting plates SP1 and SP2 of the double movable short circuit connected to the rear of the 3dB coupler. The two microwaves reflected by SP1 and SP2 are each split into two by a 3dB coupler and output to terminals I and II. Therefore, by adjusting the distance between SP1 and SP2 and changing the phase difference between the two microwaves, you can freely change the output of the microwaves that come out to terminals I and II. Also, by keeping the distance between SP1 and SP2 constant and linking them, you can freely change the phase of the microwaves coming out from terminals I and II. Therefore, this device is often used as a high-power standing wave generator, output power regulator, phase shifter, or matching device.

■Double slug tuner

This device consists of two dielectrics that can withstand high power placed in the groove in the center of the long side of the waveguide, and the insertion length and spacing of the two dielectrics are made variable so that they can be moved in the axial direction while keeping them constant. By changing the spacing between the two dielectric slugs, the overall VSWR can be changed from 1 to the product of each VSWR value ρ1 and ρ2. Since this device does not have any parts that generate particularly strong electric fields, it is used for high power matching devices as well as for testing the load characteristics of oscillators.
