About This Product

■Coaxial dual output waveguide type directional coupler

This device can guide part of the traveling wave and reflected wave flowing in the main line to the connected sub line and separate them. Therefore, in addition to monitoring the transmitted power, coupling the frequency meter, and inserting the received local oscillation signal, this device can also determine the reflection coefficient of the load by measuring the reflected wave signal level for a constant input level. It may also be used as a substitute for a fixed attenuator for high power applications. There are two types of waveguide directional couplers: orthogonal and porous. Orthogonal directional couplers are widely used because they are small and inexpensive, but their frequency band is narrower than that of porous directional couplers, and the degree of coupling is only 20 dB. Porous directional couplers have a flat frequency response, so they are used over a wide range of frequencies and can provide much tighter coupling. Therefore, the latter is suitable for high-precision measurements. A coaxial dual-output directional coupler is primarily a directional coupler suitable for practical equipment that can independently and simultaneously measure or monitor traveling waves and reflected waves. Since it incorporates a low-pass filter on the output side, it is suitable for measuring only the fundamental wave of transmitters using magnetrons, traveling wave tubes, klystrons, etc.
