■Summary
Pocket PEA, a high-speed screening continuous excitation chlorophyll fluorescence analyzer, can perform dark adaptation before measurement using the included leaf clip. Measurements such as Fv/Fm and PI (Performance Index) can be performed with the press of a single button. It can perform high-speed measurements in about 1 second and has a memory capacity for 200 measurements, so it can be used effectively in large-scale screening. The chlorophyll fluorescence signal is digitized by a 16bit A/D converter. Fluorescent signals are digitized at different speeds depending on the sample. Measurements such as Fv/Fm and PI (Performance Index) can be performed with a single button. It can perform high-speed measurements in about 1 second and has a memory capacity for 200 measurements, so it can be used effectively in large-scale screening.

■Application
The Pocket PEA chlorophyll fluorometer is suitable for educational, screening and research applications. Samples can be easily dark-adapted before measurements using the included leaf clip. Fully automatic measurement is possible with a single key operation, from data acquisition to calculation and display of major parameters such as Fv/Fm and PI (Performance Index). The chlorophyll fluorescence signal received by the sensor during recording is digitized by high-speed 16-bit analog-to-digital conversion in the control unit, providing excellent accuracy and reproducibility.
Bluetooth wireless transfer allows recordings to be transferred from the Pocket PEA to a suitable Bluetooth-equipped PC in the field for further review and analysis using custom Windows® PC software.
