About This Product

■Summary

The Oxyview1 Oxygen Measurement Introductory System was designed in response to the increasing demand for low-cost systems for teaching photosynthesis and respirometry using oxygen electrode technology. Although the system is designed for use in busy educational environments, it can be used in modern research facilities as well. The Oxyview control unit is fully compatible with Hansatech's oxygen electrode chambers, allowing you to perform a variety of analyzes in both liquid and gas phase.

■Features

・Low-cost system convenient for teaching photosynthesis research and cellular respiration measurements using oxygen electrodes ・Transparent acrylic DW1/AD oxygen electrode chamber with built-in Clark type polarographic oxygen electrode ・Oxyview electrode control unit with integrated magnetic stirrer ・Displays the oxygen content of the sample as a digital value or percentage value User-friendly configuration with a responsive 4-button control panel and comprehensive set of menu screens Analog output for connecting to a chart recorder or other external recording device - Minimum footprint (90 x 135mm) allows multiple units to be installed even when bench space is limited

■Oxygen electrode disk

The S1 Clark oxygen electrode disk has remained largely unchanged since its original design by Tom Delieu and David Walker in the early 1970s. This is a true testament to the quality and reliability of the sensor. S1 consists of a platinum cathode and a silver anode set in an epoxy resin disk. When a small voltage is applied between these electrodes (the platinum is negative with respect to the silver), the current flowing is initially negligible and the platinum becomes polarized (i.e., it accepts no externally applied potential). ). When this potential is increased to 700 mV, oxygen is reduced at the platinum surface, initially to hydrogen peroxide H2O2, and the polarity tends to discharge as electrons are donated to oxygen (which acts as an electron acceptor). The current flowing in this case is stoichiometrically related to the oxygen consumed at the cathode, providing a fast and effective way to detect small changes in oxygen partial pressure in liquid-phase samples.
