The UV-40 Ultraviolet Spectral Irradiance Standard Light Source is a stable 30W deuterium lamp with spectral irradiance ratings in the wavelength range between 200 and 400 nm. The main applications of UV-40 are for the calibration of UV radiometers and spectroradiometers, and as an irradiance light source for various UV exposure tests. Deuterium lamps are particularly suitable for use as UV standards due to their continuous intensity between 200 and 400 nm. 200nm, where UV-40 is strongest, is the range where most equipment is weakly sensitive. The 250nm spectral irradiance value is about 5 times higher than that of a 1,000W tungsten halogen light source. UV-40 spectral irradiance values ​​are valued at 10nm intervals between 200 and 400nm. Calibration between 250 and 400 nm is based on the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) high-precision spectral irradiance standard light source, and calibration between 200 and 250 nm is based on NIST's deuterium spectral irradiance standard light source.
