About This Product
■Summary
The ColliMeter™ family uses scanning pentaprism technology referenced in ISO11421 to measure wavefront slope across an aperture. The centroid of the subaperture is recorded as a function of pupil position, essentially creating a classical ray fan plot. A perfect collimator creates a straight line with a slope related to the deviation of the apparent object distance from infinity. For a real refractive collimator with a polychromatic light source, the plot conforms to higher order aberrations and uses statistical analysis to determine defocus.
The ColliMeter 350 is a collimator for large collimators that not only measures collimation and defocus, but also allows the beam to be horizontal and the instrument to be mounted on a collimating system, aligning the light source to a reference on the collimating optics.

■ColliMetric software
ColliMetric software is created specifically to support the ColliMeter instrument series. The software runs on a Windows operating system and connects to the motion and camera hardware within the instrument through an interface box to automate data acquisition and processing. Operators can define and save named configurations that specify scanning and processing parameters. Currently, ColliMetric applications can handle projected objects with well-defined centroids, such as pinholes and cross-edges.
