About This Product

Vehicle protection fences are designed to ensure that even if a heavy vehicle traveling at high speed collides with the vehicle, the vehicle will not run off the road, ensuring the safety of vehicle occupants, providing good guidance performance after a vehicle collision, and providing protection. Performance standards set by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism include ensuring that the deformation of the fence itself remains below a certain level and that its components do not fly off in the event of a collision. Regarding protective fences for vehicles, the Ministry of Construction's standards were revised in November 1998, and only those that have been verified by road administrators to meet the required performance through actual vehicle collision tests can be put into practical use. It has become. Regarding rigid concrete protection fences, the Ministry of Construction, the Japan Highway Corporation, the Cement Association of Japan, and the PGF Association conducted joint research over a four-year period starting in 1995, conducting a total of nine real-vehicle crash tests to improve and confirm performance. I did. As a result, a large vehicle with a gross vehicle weight of 25 tons was collided at a speed of 100 km/h with a collision angle of 15 degrees, and it was confirmed that the new protective fence met the required performance specified in the installation standards. This concrete rigid guard fence was featured in the "Standard Specifications and Explanations for Vehicle Guard Fences" published by the Japan Road Association in March 2004.

■Features

The structural feature of precast guard fence (PGF) is that the bottom of a precast concrete block with a standard length of 3 to 5 m is installed 10 cm below the pavement surface, then prestressed steel is placed longitudinally, and precast concrete blocks are placed in the specified direction. After applying tension (prestress), the block is completed by paving around it. It has a simple structure and is easy to install, and also has excellent performance as a protective fence for vehicles. Protective fences with this type of structure have not yet been seen in Europe and America, and were first devised in Japan.
