About This Product

Detects the occurrence of an explosion using light or pressure and blocks deflagration from propagating through the duct. Pressure is stored in the factory-supplied air source, which is opened using a trigger to pressurize the cylinder rod and move the slide valve to the closed position. Although it depends on the diameter of the duct to be shut off, it completely closes at a speed of several 10 mm/s. Restoration of operation is easy with electrical operation and costs almost nothing.

■Summary

The greatest risk of dust explosions is that deflagrations generated in some powder processes propagate through ducts to adjacent processes, increasing pressure and causing chain explosions. The duct must be shut off earlier than the propagation time. ATEX momentary shutoff valve is a system that enables instantaneous shutoff and recovery just by controlling air pressure. It is the world's easiest-to-operate explosion shutoff valve, allowing for one-touch restoration and operation testing.

■System

・It is driven only by air pressure and a solenoid valve, without using an explosive initiator or pressure vessel rupture disc. The start of an explosion is detected by pressure or light, and the control unit drives the solenoid valve inside the device, and the air pressure from the pressure storage container pushes out the gate valve with cylinder piston, shutting off the duct. Restore with push button. ・A design separation distance is required from the explosion origin = detection location. - Install at the bottom or side of the duct, not at the top.

■Main features

・There is no pressure loss during operation, making it effective for explosion propagation from both directions of the duct. - Air is taken in from the factory instrumentation air source and the starting pressure is maintained in the accumulating pressure tank. ・There are basically no replacement parts when the operation is restored. ・Operation and recovery tests can be performed manually or remotely. ・Maintenance makes actual operation easier, and the complete closing time mm sec can be measured using a position switch. ・FDA approved (medicine manufacturing process)
