About This Product

Overview

■What is laser hardening?

Laser hardening is a new heat treatment technology that hardens materials using only laser irradiation. Conventional hardening methods require workpiece cooling using water, oil, etc., but laser hardening uses the workpiece's self-cooling to harden, so no cooling process is required. It is also an innovative hardening technology that can minimize distortion of the workpiece, which was the biggest problem with conventional hardening methods. In particular, it contributes to surface modification that improves wear resistance.

■Features

・Localized quenching ・Reduction of distortion due to thermal effects ・Excellent temperature uniformity control ・No need for quenching and cooling process Contributes to shortening the process. Reduction of installation costs and running costs. YUTAKA's strengths

■Automation system

Utilizing the technology of robot system integrators, we will propose automation for everything from loading to hardening and unloading.

■ Constant temperature control (PID control)

By constantly monitoring the temperature during hardening with a radiation thermometer, we can adjust the laser output and incorporate PID control to keep the temperature constant, achieving uniform and high quality hardening.

■Waveform monitoring function

Collect temperature and laser output data during quenching, register them as master waveforms, and then set thresholds. If the measured value deviates from the threshold, a system error can occur, so it is possible to build a system that does not release defective products.

■Data management system

Utilizes data collected from automated lines every cycle to help improve productivity. Toyo Denshi Kogyo has undergone laser hardening tests. We also use our own inspection equipment to check the quality after quenching. Therefore, we are able to conduct everything from laser hardening tests to hardening quality in-house.

■Laser hardening results

・Material: SC material, martensitic SUS material, SCM material, FC material, FCD material, SUJ material, sintered material (including carbon), etc. ・Quenching depth: ~1mm (depending on conditions) ・Quenching depth should be HV550 or more.
