About This Product

Achieves 50 to 100 theoretical plates. Compatible with Sulzer EX packing. In conventional distillation columns, increasing the height of the column releases a large amount of heat and increases internal reflux, making it difficult for steam to rise and causing flooding. To prevent this, the outside was kept warm with heat insulators, ribbon heaters, etc., but in this case it is difficult to see the inside and to synchronize the temperature distribution with the sample boiling point. This distillation column has a distillation layer outside the packed tube, and the rising steam from the bottom flask rises to the vapor layer inside and outside the packed tube. This allows for natural self-heating and heat retention, making distillation easy. Additionally, a vacuum insulation layer is provided on the outside of the filling tube, resulting in a three-layer structure that is less susceptible to the effects of outside air. This distillation column has a simple structure, and the packing tubes can be separated, making it easy to rearrange the packing materials. Steam from the bottom flask rises both inside the filling tube and outside this. For this reason, the packed tube can be heated to a natural temperature, and flooding is unlikely to occur even with a relatively long column length. Furthermore, it has a triple structure with a vacuum jacket that isolates the entire structure from heat from the outside air.

■Example of theoretical plate number measurement (Kiriyama SUS net FR67E-5-3)

By increasing the reflux time (more than 5 hours) to stabilize the gas-liquid equilibrium, we obtained a theoretical plate number of 72 plates and a H.E.T.P. of 14 mm/plate. In this distillation performance test, as mentioned above, we obtained over 99% of low boiling point substances using samples with a boiling point difference of 2.5℃, and the pressure loss during operation was extremely low at approximately 30 mm of water column. This performance test data varies depending on operating conditions such as reflux time and amount of bottom blow-up.
