A2 Photonic Sesors' IceCube ice crystal specific surface area measuring device SE-ICA2 is a compact snow specific surface area measurement system that uses any snow or ice as a sample and uses a unique optical system to measure the specific surface area (SSA) of ice crystals in ice and snow. ) can be measured. ■About measurement theory

The IceCube ice crystal specific surface area measurement device has three steps. ・Irradiate the snow sample with controlled light using a photodiode. ・Using a unique correction curve, the measured light is analyzed into reflected light. ・Convert from your own modeling system to SSA. *About the irradiation wavelength: The wavelength range of 1,310nm is the most stable wavelength when observed as reflected light. *Comes with a digital display to capture ice and snow samples and display observed values. *SSA (Specific Surface Area): Specific surface area refers to the surface area per unit mass of an object. Used to describe the characteristics of powders and porous materials. The unit is m2/g, and the larger this value, the finer the particles. SSA is an important variable characterizing the snow microstructure.
