About This Product

Lufft's NIRS31-UMB is a non-contact optical road weather sensor. Install it on a bridge or pole several meters above the road surface. The NIRS31-UMB sensor measures not only water film thickness but also road conditions such as moisture, ice, snow, frost, water and ice percentage (Ice Percentage), and freezing humidity. These measurements are used to calculate the coefficient of friction for roads and runways. Optionally, a fully integrated surface temperature sensor can be added.
