About This Product

Among these, for anodizing treatment, based on the JIS standard JIS-H8651 and the MIL standard MIL-M-45202C, chemical conversion treatment is carried out by the customer and our company after carefully checking the conditions such as corrosion resistance, adhesion, and conductivity. We will process the information according to the conditions.

■MIL/JIS standard overviewJIS and MIL standards are used for magnesium. JIS stands for (Japanese Industrial Standards). Among them, JISH8651 (Chemical conversion treatment and anodic oxide coating of magnesium and magnesium alloys) is a standard that evaluates anodic oxide coatings and chemical conversion coatings in terms of corrosion resistance, conductivity, and average coating thickness.

When using chemical conversion treatment as a paint base, we conduct tests such as a grid test (currently not in the standard), cross cut, etc. to test adhesion. Additionally, when conductivity is required, we use the 4-terminal method or Lorester for testing.

Unlike JIS, the MIL standard (United States Defense Standard) has separate standards for anodizing treatment and chemical conversion treatment, and is carried out strictly in accordance with the standard. AMS-M-3171 (MIL-M-3171C) is a standard for chemical conversion treatment. Types 1 to 8 are managed mainly depending on the processing solution and method.
