About This Product

■What is coal coke?

Coal coke is produced when coal is dry distilled. Because it has a high calorific value when burned and can reach high temperatures, it has long been an indispensable fuel for heavy, long industries, such as steam locomotives and the steel industry. Although its appearance is inferior to that of coal, it is porous and is formed through the removal of volatile matter during dry distillation, resulting in higher carbon purity and the ability to burn at high temperatures.

■What is petroleum coke?

This is the residue obtained when asphalt heavy oil is thermally decomposed. Calcined coke has excellent graphitization properties, so it is used as a raw material for electrodes, aluminum electrodes, and abrasive materials. The properties of petroleum coke depend on the raw materials used, and there are various types ranging from low sulfur content to high sulfur content, and each type is used depending on its purpose.
