Solvent stripping has the advantage that uniform stripping is possible just by immersion, and it has little effect on the jig or workpiece. However, in exchange for its advantages, it contains methylene chloride and NMP (N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone), which are dangerous to workers and cause contamination of the working environment. Methylene chloride is carcinogenic, and when using it, it is necessary to strictly control the concentration in the working environment, and NMP is also designated as a reportable substance under the PRTR Law. Additionally, because it dissolves the paint film, the stripper needs to be replaced frequently, which is time-consuming and costly.

■What is “MEC-REL PEELING SYSTEM”, which is ideal as an alternative to chlorinated solvents?

"MEC-REL" is a semi-aqueous stripping cleaner that does not contain chlorinated solvents or organic solvents that fall under laws and regulations such as the Fire Service Act. This stripper does not contain any organic solvents and is not classified as a hazardous material, so it is safe for both the environment and workers to use. However, "MEC-REL stripping agent" alone is not effective. The workpiece is immersed and cleaned while being heated using "MEC-REL PEELING SYSTEM dedicated equipment" tailored to the customer's application and wishes, and as MEC-REL penetrates into the coating film, the coating film gradually swells. Because it removes strongly without melting, you can reduce the time and cost required to replace the liquid. *By selecting and customizing specialized equipment and steam, you can expect great results and improve work efficiency.
