About This Product
An alumite nameplate is a nameplate created by forming a dyed image on an alumite film, dipping an organic dye into the alumite layer, and sealing the alumite layer. It can express precise characters and figures, produce a variety of colors with a metallic luster, and is smooth and stain-resistant.
*Alumite film, also called anodic oxide film, is an aluminum oxide film (AL2O3) produced on the surface of aluminum (AL) by electrolysis.
■Characteristics of alumite nameplate
・Although its heat resistance and weather resistance are not very good, it is relatively inexpensive, so it is mainly used for indoor metal nameplates.
・Although the images are sharp and have excellent reproducibility, it is difficult to match the colors with dyes, and the colors are basically limited to standard colors.
・Suitable for small and medium-sized production.
■Production process
Alumite nameplates are manufactured using the following process.
Alumite (anodized film) treatment → Baking → Development → Coloring → Sealing treatment → (Clear coating) → (Protective tape finish) → (Double-sided tape finish) → External finish
■Standard color
·black
・Red (equivalent to DIC158)
・Navy blue (equivalent to DIC185)
■Design considerations
・Generally, the film thickness of an alumite nameplate is approximately 6μ. Basically, the thickness of the alumite cannot be specified.
・Cracks will form in the alumite film at temperatures of around 100°C in hot water and around 180°C in outside air.
■Environmental response
We have cleared RoHS regulations, and our anodized aluminum nameplate is RoHS compliant.
