About This Product

Four functions: Waterproof ventilation filter that supports the longevity and reliability of battery pack systems

■Sealability and protection

Protects from liquids such as water and car oil, as well as dust and contamination.

■Intermittent pressure equilibration

Protects against pressure fluctuations within the battery.

■Effective ventilation performance

Exhausts the humid air that has accumulated inside the battery pack during each warm-up cycle. Effective against internal condensation.

■Fail safety design

If thermal runaway occurs inside the battery, a large amount of gas can be expelled in a short period of time.

■The quartern mounting method extends the lifespan and reliability of the battery pack system.

・Integrated O-ring provides high airtightness while maintaining water resistance ・Product design that not only has toughness for product performance but also passes vibration resistance tests - The Tetratex® PTFE membrane used in the battery vent has a water inlet pressure of up to 2.7 bar and high air permeability, equalizing pressure within the battery housing and supporting moisture drainage. Chemically deactivated, water-repellent and porous, Tetratex® has a unique oleophobic treatment that makes it resistant to oils, lubricants, soaps and automotive oils.

■Sealing properties of the membrane that protects Donaldson “Battery Vent” parts

The thermal weldability of Donaldson's proprietary Tetratex® PTFE membrane to the housing is guaranteed by years of know-how. The sealing properties created by this advanced welding technology reduce the number of parts such as valves and rubber flaps, as well as their weight and cost. Donaldson's "Battery Vent" not only improves reliability in quality performance, but also simplifies the structure and reduces costs. In systems equipped with conventional one-way valves, the valves may occasionally open or close under unexpected conditions. At this time, not only does dust and other contaminants temporarily flow in, but there is also the risk that the accumulation of these contaminants creates an entrance through which contaminants and rain can constantly flow in. The "Battery Vent" has a design that prevents unexpected conditions from occurring, and a mechanical structure that meets the strict quality requirements for automobiles, thereby preventing the inflow of contaminants over a long period of time and fulfilling the function of balancing internal and external pressure. .
