About This Product

■1/4 wavelength plate

The newly introduced 1/4-wave plate gives a phase difference to linearly polarized light.If the slow and fast axes of the 1/4-wave plate are stacked at a 45° angle to the optical axis of the filter, they will form a straight line. Converts polarized light to circularly polarized light. It is an optical element that creates a phase difference between orthogonal polarized light components, and is also called a phase plate. Among linear polarizing plates, those that produce a phase difference of λ/2 (90 degrees) are called λ/4 (quarter-wave plates) and convert linearly polarized light into circularly polarized light, and conversely, convert circularly polarized light into linearly polarized light. It is used for.
