About This Product

■High-performance objective lens Manufactured by Beck

This high-performance objective lens, formerly known as the Beck Ealling objective lens, is compatible with a wide range of existing objective lens configuration systems due to its finite system design and RMS standard mounting screws. The optical system, which consists of only two precision mirrors, corrects spherical aberration, coma aberration, and astigmatism to the utmost limit, producing diffraction-limited performance. There is no chromatic aberration or light transmission loss found in refractive objective lenses that use conventional transmission lenses. It is assembled to obtain optimal performance based on the 160mm lens barrel length and 0.17 cover glass. Equipped with internal mirror position adjustment function to extend the coverage of each lens. Additionally, the 74x is equipped with an adjustment mechanism for lens barrel length and cover glass thickness.

■About spider

Beck's standard objectives have a three-legged spider (for secondary mirror support) that produces a six-point flare pattern while minimizing diffraction. A four-legged spider produces more diffraction, but some users specify a flare pattern with only four points. If you request a spider with main legs, 4 will be added to the part number when ordering. (Standard specification is 3 legs) *If back reflections may be an issue in your application, the matte black dimples can be made into secondary (smaller) mirrors. Add part number -D to the end.

■The standard reflective objective lens comes with an aluminum coated mirror.

This provides the widest spectral range from ultraviolet to far infrared, but limits the objective lens to low power only. For applications requiring high power, we offer alternative coatings. Other specialty coatings are also available for special applications.
