About This Product

Turning parallel rays into diffused rays, it looks just like a diffused ray emanating from a point ray at the focal point of a lens. They can be incorporated into optical systems to help extend the focal length, or simply used to diffuse light. As a general rule, the concave side of a plano-convex lens faces the direction in which parallel or approximately parallel light rays come. The choice of plano-concave or biconcave is determined by the residual aberration of the optical system.

■Synthetic quartz

Synthetic quartz is an optical glass material for transmission, but because it has a much lower expansion than materials such as BK7, it is used as a high-precision substrate for various optical products.

■Features

・The transmittance in the visible and ultraviolet regions is the highest among optical glasses, and there are few bubbles and impurities. ・Low thermal expansion, wide usable temperature range (maximum temperature around 800℃) ・Low fluorescence even under strong ultraviolet light. ・The material is harder than other materials and is less prone to scratches.
