About This Product

There are several ways to connect capillary columns. First, it is a manual method, but it is a time-consuming process, and in the case of metal connectors, repeated heating of the oven temperature may cause them to loosen and cause column deterioration. Glass connectors are easy to install, but the connection is not reliable. Da Vinci Laboratory Solutions (DVLS) offers the next generation of more compact DVLS fusing tools to automatically connect capillary columns quickly and reliably.

■Seamless connection in 5 steps

The DVLS fuse tool automatically and completely seals the column in less than 3 minutes. This saves users significant time and, more importantly, provides reliable analysis results. In five easy steps, DVLS' Fuse Tool automatically establishes a stable connection between two capillary columns using deactivated tubing. Four small heat spots secure the column within the tube to create a seamless connection.

■Glass tube connection

Special glass tubes have been developed to establish connections for fuse tools. The glass material is chemically inert. The DVLS fuse tool connection is made by melting a special tube. As a result, it melts into a small glass tube and fills the gap. There is no need to worry about leaks. Tubes can be used for a variety of applications. Examples include pre-column connections to protect analytical columns, connections between analytical columns and retention gaps, and connections between columns with different polarities (GCxGC and separation of duplicate peaks). Therefore, tubing can be used as an excellent alternative to press-fit and metal connectors.
