About This Product

Cells are stably irradiated with ultraviolet light that most closely resembles natural sunlight. Ideal for phototoxicity tests and ROS assays (chemical photoreactivity tests) such as safety research.

■Product overview

The first solar irradiation device for phototoxicity testing was adopted by a public testing organization. Subsequently, the test results have been evaluated and the product has been adopted by the safety research departments of many pharmaceutical manufacturers. The "SXL-3000V2" solar irradiation device for phototoxicity testing is a device that stably irradiates cells with ultraviolet rays that are most similar to natural sunlight. Therefore, it is ideal for phototoxicity tests and ROS assays (chemical photoreactivity tests) not only for pharmaceutical manufacturers, but also for cosmetics manufacturers, food manufacturers, and other safety research.

■OECD guideline recommended models

Substances that are negative in conventional animal experiments often show positive results in phototoxicity tests using cells (in vitro), and the validity of conventional cytotoxicity tests is being questioned. Therefore, as an alternative to the conventional phototoxicity test, the guidelines recommend a method that detects active oxygen by exposing only the aqueous reagent solution to light containing ultraviolet rays without using cells.

■For such troubles

・We would like to introduce a light source device for photogenotoxicity tests and photocytotoxicity tests. ・We would like to introduce a light source device for chemical photoreactivity testing (ROS assay). ・I want to do a phototoxicity test/ROS assay, but I don't know which light source to use. ・We have installed a phototoxicity test device, but the results are not as expected. ・The performance and usability of the equipment you are currently using is not good. ・Since the equipment we use is made overseas, we are concerned about support and maintenance. ・We are considering alternative tests to animal experiments.

■Reproduce natural sunlight as faithfully as possible

The spectral distribution and test wavelength range are perfectly matched to sunlight.

■The UV-A irradiation amount contained in the light is 2.5mw/c㎡ or more

The spectral distribution of UV-A is in the range of 315 to 400 nm, and an irradiation amount of 2.5 mw/c㎡ or more is possible.

■Heat from infrared rays is almost completely cut off.

Although the light emitted from the xenon lamp includes infrared light, a heat shield filter (IR cut filter) cuts out the infrared light.

■Illumination intensity adjustment and irradiation distance can be freely adjusted

Illuminance can be continuously adjusted within the range of 100% to 50% using the volume knob. You can also freely set the irradiation distance.
