Microbial testing is important for ensuring the safety and quality of products in various fields such as the food and drinking water industry, pharmaceutical and medical device industries, but methods that use culture require several days to obtain results. This created a huge burden on risk management and increased inventory. This rapid microbial testing device, BioProra, uses a new method that does not use a microscope system, and is a microbial testing device that can perform rapid and highly accurate measurements.

■Measurement principle of BioProraBioprora fluorescently stains living/dead bacteria (live bacteria and dead bacteria) and dead bacteria, irradiates each microorganism with light with a specific wavelength to make each microorganism emit light, and captures the emitting point as an image with a CCD. , the number of live/dead bacteria (live bacteria and dead bacteria) and the number of dead bacteria are counted separately by image processing, and the number of viable bacteria is calculated from the difference. Even if different types of microorganisms coexist and the luminescence intensity and size of the luminescent spots differ, it is highly accurate because the luminescent spots are measured one by one as microorganisms.
