Silicon-based solar cells, which can be said to be synonymous with solar cells, have improved performance and become larger in diameter even at the mass-produced level, resulting in higher output.However, compound-based and dye-sensitized (wet) solar cells, which are called next-generation solar cells, are becoming more and more popular. Research and development has progressed and it has attracted attention in recent years. We have successfully developed an I-V curve tracer that can measure everything from silicon solar cells to new types of solar cells. This next-generation I-V curve tracer "MP-160" is based on a newly designed electronic load method and has a wide measurement range and high resolution for solar cells that can meet all requests from ultra-low output cells to high output modules. This is an evaluation device. It exhibits sufficient performance not only for solar cell evaluations performed outdoors under natural sunlight, but also for indoor evaluations using artificial light sources (solar simulators). For outdoor measurements, the automatic measurement mode allows continuous data acquisition over a long period of time, and by connecting an optional module scanner, it is possible to evaluate up to 48 modules simultaneously, which can be used for exposure deterioration tests. For indoor measurements, high-speed simultaneous sampling of voltage, current, and light intensity (reference cell, etc.) is enabled, and the lamp light source fluctuation correction function enables more accurate measurements.
