About This Product

■MTF-Explorer MTF-measurement software

Software for measuring modulation transfer function (MTF), LSF and ESF. MTF measurement is done by adjusting the CCD chip in the sensor head. MTF Explorer is suitable for upgrading existing equipment or setting up new, cost-effective solutions. MTF-Explorer is an image evaluation software for measuring modulation transfer function (MTF), line spread function (LSF) and edge spread function (ESF). It consists of Windows software with an interface to the image source. These are frame grabbers for standard analog video signals, WDM interfaces for digital cameras. Additionally, you can save images in BMP and JPG formats up to 16 megapixels.

■MTF-Explorer Universal Solution

MTF-Explorer is the gateway to MTF measurement. Image acquisition can be done using a conventional microscope, an analog CCD camera, or a digital camera with a fixed objective lens. MTF Explorer can be used for almost any application. After a simple calibration, MTF can be measured directly. MTF-Explorer features the image quality characteristics of a digital camera. With the help of image evaluation by MTF-Explorer, it is possible not only to measure the imaging quality of the optical system, but also to determine the influence of the CCD chip edges of the camera electronics.

■MTF modulation transfer function

Modulation transfer function (MTF) is a recognized control criterion for optical image quality. Characterize the resolution of the optical system on-axis and in the image field. The MTF depends on the spatial frequency for imaging of the line grid and is expressed as the ratio of image to object contrast as a function of the spatial frequency of the line grid with cosine function transfer. Spatial frequency is expressed in line pairs per millimeter (lp/mm).

■Real-time MTF measurement offers new possibilities

By using a CCD camera in conjunction with an image processing system, real-time data of line or edge intensity distributions is obtained. From this data, you can calculate your MTF. MTF data can be saved or viewed on your PC.
