SURFTENS PD is an image processing software for measuring the surface tension of liquids using the pendant drop method. Droplet shape analysis calculates the surface tension using the shape parameters of the pendant drop. SURFTENS PD is used in conjunction with OEG equipment, but can also be used as a standalone solution for your application.

■Comfortable Windows software

The 32-bit software SURFTENS 4.2 PD is used to measure surface tension by the pendant drop method. This program, derived from the COMEF software, has convenient features for droplet representation and surface tension measurements. Droplet generation is carried out by SURFTENS series devices. Surface tension measurements involve droplet shape analysis. The measured parameters are displayed on the video image. The iterative procedure fits the theoretical droplet profile to the experimental droplet profile. Calibration of the system is performed using various sub-pixel algorithms that ensure the highest accuracy. Calibration is required every time the magnification or needle position changes. Note: Surface tension error is twice the calibration error. The density of the test medium used and the surrounding medium are essential parameters for accurately calculating surface tension. These must be entered by the user. The program provides an additional window for entering the density. The last used settings are recorded in the program. The collected data can be analyzed using standard protocols, allowing for statistical analysis such as mean values ​​and standard deviations.
