About This Product

■Contact Angle Standard

The Contact Angle Standard is a glass plate with images representing droplets with different contact angles. The Contact Angle Standard is manufactured using a high-precision lithography process, so the image itself is highly accurate according to the specified CAD data. A glass plate is placed on the measuring table in place of the actual droplet. Proof of the reproducibility of contact angle measurements is achieved by repeated measurements of the object (droplet). For proper testing, measurements must be taken using live video (not frozen images). Real droplets have the problem of permanent evaporation. As a result of permanent evaporation, the contact angle changes permanently. Therefore, it is impossible to prove the reproducibility of contact angle measurements using real liquids. Since the Contact Angle Standard does not change the shape (contact angle), it can be used to prove the repeatability of the measurement system. Furthermore, the images are generated very accurately and represent different contact angles. Therefore, the Contact Angle Standard can be optimally used to prove the absolute measurement accuracy of contact angle measurement systems.
