About This Product

■Measurement function

RICOS's task is to measure and evaluate the internal profile of a webbing ring for the manufacture of beverage cans. The measurement and evaluation system RICOS provides profile measurement and tolerance evaluation of crimped rings for beverage can production. In the fabrication evaluation of woven rings, the profile and position of the edges (lands) change as a result of wear. RICOS is useful for measuring land shape and position. Tolerance patterns classify rings as to their suitability for use. Profile measurement is performed via a mechanical tracer, which is driven in the Xx direction (measuring length 2-6 mm) with very high resolution (of the order of 1 µm) in the Y coordinate during the measurement procedure. Due to the high resolution of the tracer, the surface roughness is also additionally measured. This "noise" is removed by appropriate mathematical techniques. Measurements are taken, stored as x/y value pairs, and provided for evaluation.

■Tolerance model

Inspection of barness in tolerance patterns is the main point of profile measurement evaluation. A tolerance model exists for each type of ring, and the measured profile is checked against the model and classified as good or defective. Tolerance models are given by CAD data and manual input. *These are standard product specifications, and can be modified to suit your needs.
