■GPM2 1D glass thickness
High-precision automatic measuring device for glass thickness distribution
■Field of use
The glass thickness profiler GPM has the ability to perform fast and accurate determination of the thickness profile of flat glass or other transparent materials with thicknesses from 30 μm to 700 μm (for sensor type 1) and widths of 1,200 mm. Masu. The distance of the measuring point for profile measurement can be varied between 0.1 mm and 1 mm using a positioning device with microstep control.
A special hardware module for the image processing algorithm ensures that the measurement values for the scanning points are acquired within 40 ms. The measurement time for the entire sample is obtained as the product of the sample width to be measured, the measurement point distance and the measurement time per measurement point.
The center of the measurement position forms a special sensor (CAS) that operates based on laser triangulation on a parallel plane glass substrate. The sensor is connected to a control computer equipped with a high-speed image processing module. As an option, multiple sensors can be installed simultaneously to measure different measurement ranges given by the product of measurable sample width, measurement point distance per measurement point, and gate time.
The measurement system is controlled by an IBM compatible PC with WINDOWS95 operating system. With a frame grabber installed on your computer, you can observe the status using live images. If desired, the images from the frame grabber can be used for direct calculation of measurements in the control computer, but the measurement speed will be slower. The measurement sample is fixed on an adjusted stone surface plate. To be able to measure even very thin foil samples, positioning is provided by controllable pneumatic pinch rollers.
The thickness of the sample being measured is displayed in real time in a diagram. After the measurement process is finished, the maximum value, minimum value, average value, P-V value and standard deviation will be displayed. These numbers display values at predefined measurement intervals.
In this way, the thickness is measured in a predefined sample area (quality area) above a predetermined thickness value (upper and lower tolerance limits). A warning signal (message window and signal light) indicates that the tolerance range is within the defined measuring field. Users can arrange appropriate reactions.
