About This Product

■Summary

The MECO-MB seal model is an elastomer-driven contact face seal designed to fit inside an existing stuffing box. Not available in split configurations. It can only be used with certain true running equipment that is dimensionally accurate and has minimal runout (≤1mm or 1/32 inch).

■Features of MB seal

・MECO MB Seal is an elastomer-driven contact type double seal designed to be installed in existing gland packing stuffing boxes. It cannot be manufactured with a two-part structure. -Can only be used in specific equipment with high dimensional accuracy and minimal shaft runout (1 mm or less). Additionally, since air purge is always required, the customer must add an air connection port and a pressure gauge connection port for monitoring to the stuffing box.

■Ideal application for MB stickers

MECO MB seals are sealing solutions for rotary valves and airlocks that can be used at temperatures up to 260 °C and pressures up to 0.1 MPa. If the structure of the device or space in the axial direction allows, you can consider pushing the ground follower in with a spring.

■ Operating principle of MB seal

This seal uses an existing packing stuffing box and follower to bring the sealing surface into close contact, and air purges inside the box to assist in airtightness. Normally, a pressure of about 0.1Mpa is set inside the box.

■What kind of structures are possible?

Like other models, MB seals can be made from a variety of materials. The rotor, which is the sliding surface, is made of an original PTFE-based resin, and the stator, which is the fixed sliding surface, is made of not only 300 series stainless steel but also 17-4 stainless steel, which is suitable for quench hardening. . O-ring and drive elastomers are available in silicone, Viton®, EPDM, and FDA-approved versions. Materials are selected according to their suitability with the application. In order to accommodate stuffing boxes of various dimensions, there are no off-the-shelf products, and everything is custom designed.
