About This Product

Organic peroxides are generally considered derivatives of hydrogen peroxide (H2O2). In other words, it is a compound in which the hydrogen atom of H-O-O-H is replaced with an organic atomic group, and there are various peroxides that have different thermal decomposition characteristics by changing the organic atomic group. The chemical characteristics of organic peroxides are due to -O-O- bonds. Because it has -O-O- bonds with relatively low bond energy in its molecules, it decomposes thermally at relatively low temperatures or reacts with reducing substances to easily generate free radicals. ■Features

It is an organic peroxide that is active at low temperatures and is useful as a polymerization initiator at relatively low temperatures. It is particularly useful as a polymerization initiator for vinyl chloride, and is used to obtain polyvinyl chloride with a low degree of polymerization. Perhexyl PV is more active at low temperatures than perbutyl PV, which has a similar structure. Additionally, since the vapor pressure is low, it has the characteristic of improving scale formation during vinyl chloride polymerization. It is also used as a polymerization initiator for MMA.
