Taking these aspects into account, the new Ensenso generates 3D data using laser triangulation accelerated by artificial intelligence. By leveraging alternative 3D technology, we were able to develop the Ensenso S10 in an ultra-compact and cost-effective manner.
■Even lower cost
The benefits of 3D object information can now be used for simple 3D applications where previous systems were too costly or too large. Combine the proven and flexible Ensenso SDK with Ensenso S to bring industrial 3D technology to projects with limited budgets.
■AI laser triangulation
Ensenso S10 uses a 3D method based on structured lighting. Produce high contrast dot patterns with a narrowband IR laser projector. This is possible even for objects with difficult surfaces or objects up to 3 meters away.
Artificial intelligence ensures that laser points detected by the camera are mapped to hard-coded positions in the DOE projection. The result is reliable 3D data with highly accurate depth information.
■Reproducible industrial quality
The highly compact IP 65/67 protection class zinc cast housing with screw-on connectors and steel frame securely holds the 3D part in a pre-calibrated position and prevents twisting.
A regulated heating system stabilizes the laser's temperature, ensuring constant laser emission at a wavelength of 835nm, resulting in consistent quality. This results in improved Z accuracy, with a maximum deviation of 2.4 mm in depth values for objects at a distance of 1 m.
■Applicable to general purpose
The camera has a compact housing that complies with industrial standards, has a field of view of 60°, and has an operating distance of 0.5 to 3 m, making it suitable for a wide variety of applications. Active IR laser illumination and camera with IR filter make it suitable for dark environments.
■Fast and accurate
Each image taken with a 1.6MP Sony sensor produces a complete point cloud with up to 85,000 depth points. Active laser illumination allows low-exposure shots and allows even fast-moving objects to be measured without motion blur. This allows you to consistently achieve 20 point clouds per second in high resolution at the full power of the projector.
