■Summary
The IMX253MZR global shutter CMOS sensor with on-pixel polarizer belongs to the Sony Pregius family and ensures excellent object detection in cases of low contrast or reflected light. Additionally, it is useful for visualizing surface flaws and stress distribution within transparent objects.
It has a pixel size of 3.45µm and a resolution of 12.29MP (4,096x3,000px), achieving 10.0fps with the GigE Vision uEye FA industrial camera. Due to the polarization filter, the sensor produces images of four polarization directions in one image.
Based on the intensity of each directional polarization, the polarization direction and degree of the light source can be determined. This camera model is supported with IDS Vision firmware 2.11 or later.
