About This Product

Western red cedar is one of the five major tree species in British Columbia (B.C.), and is called rice cedar (beisugi) in Japan. Although it is called cedar, it is actually an evergreen coniferous tree belonging to the cypress family. It is said that the Japanese name Beisugi (rice cedar) came from the fact that the wood is reddish-brown and resembles Japanese cedar. In fact, it is used for coffered ceiling panels in temples and other places as an alternative to Japanese cedar. Western Red Cedar (Rice Cedar) grows into a giant tree, with some reaching a height of 60m and a trunk diameter of over 2m. In the past, the indigenous people of Canada called Western Red Cedar the ``Tree of Life'' because they used it to provide all of their daily needs, including houses, canoes, medicine, and clothing. The Western Red Cedar (rice cedar) we deliver is imported from logs and processed entirely in Japan. Therefore, the processing accuracy is high, and the length is also manufactured in meters, making it easy to use in Japan. It is used as a high-quality wood in the United States for wood decks, exterior wall materials, interior materials, roofing materials, etc. T&G panels are durable even among coniferous trees and can be used for many years without any problems. Siding materials have the characteristics of a forest effect that relieves fatigue, a pleasant scent, and excellent insect repellent and moisture control properties. Because the knots are left, you can enjoy the wood patterns created by nature.
