About This Product

■DescriptionA colorless oil-based wood protectant that is absorbed by the wood. Exterior wood products for consumers and professionals. Valtti Pohjuste absorbs into the wood, slowing moisture absorption and the spread of blue stain. This wood protection product (product group 8) is approved according to Biocidal Product Regulation (EU) No.528/2012UK-2014-0831/FI-2015-0014. Ready-to-use oil-based primer.

■Usage exampleBalti Base is ideal as an exterior wood primer for wood stains and paints. (Excluding surfaces treated with wood oil and burn red paint). Can be used on wooden parts above ground level that are exposed to the weather or protected from the weather but exposed to repeated wetting. Not for use in wood or marine environments in direct contact with soil or water. Please do not use it for interior decoration. 

■Product featuresFor protection and priming of unpainted wood and wooden structures. Suitable for use on outdoor unpainted logs, sawn timber, heat treated timber and impregnated treated timber. Use the product only as a wood preservative, as specified on the product datasheet and label. Colorless primer does not protect the wood surface from the negative effects of sunlight, so it is recommended to apply a final coat as soon as possible. 

■Execution area・Square log, round log, planer finishing material: 10-12m2/liter (for one coat)
・Sawn timber: 4-5 m2/liter (for one coat) The actual workable area will vary depending on many factors such as surface condition, porosity, moisture content, etc.

■Drying timeAt a temperature of 23°C and relative humidity of 50%, it typically dries to the touch within 30 minutes and can be recoated after 24 hours.

■Painting conditionsAll painted surfaces must be dry. The moisture content of the wood is below 20%, the temperature during painting and drying is at least +5°C and the relative humidity is below 80%.

■DilutionValtti Base is used undiluted.
