About This Product

Conventional X-ray beam position monitors block X-rays, so they must be moved using a motorized stage. On the other hand, a thin diamond foil can be used to create a transmission-type X-ray beam position monitor that can be left inside the beam without any problems. This application takes advantage of the fact that diamond is a low-Z material, optically transparent and radiation resistant. By measuring the fluorescence generated within the foil with a CCD camera, the beam intensity, position, and beam profile can be easily monitored. In addition to fluorescent screen monitors, we can also produce 4-quadrant photodetectors. The 4-quadrant photodetector is a detector that combines a diamond photodetector with four electrodes, and can measure the beam position with high precision by evaluating the photocurrent emitted from each electrode.
