Gas density is an important operating parameter for high-voltage power equipment.If the required gas density is not obtained, safe operation of power equipment cannot be guaranteed. WIKA gas density meters provide reliable warning of dangerous low gas density levels even under extreme environmental conditions. When gas leaks and the gas density decreases, the contact switch switches. In addition to a conventional gas density meter, the GDM-100-T is equipped with a high-precision sensor and electronic circuit.
An on-site display provides a direct pressure reading relative to 20°C [68 F]. Built-in switch contacts allow switching tasks to be accomplished quickly. Built-in or fitted 4-20mA or Modbus® sensors allow remote monitoring of power equipment.
Pressure, temperature and gas density measurement data are transmitted using the standardized Modbus® RTU protocol. GDM-100-T is a model that can also be used with alternative gases consisting of N2, CF4, O2, CO2, 3M™, Novec™ 4710, He, and Ar.
The analog version of the GDM-100-T uses the proven 4-20 mA analog signal technology and outputs the absolute pressure at 20°C or the gas density in g/l for SF6 gas as an analog signal. . Additionally, by storing data, you can perform trend analysis to predict dangerous SF6 gas conditions and respond quickly. By using a gas density monitor, it is possible to optimize maintenance response from time-based (TBM*) to condition-based (CBM*).
