■Constant monitoring
Constant monitoring of gas concentrations is essential to prevent switchgear system failures and network outages. The GD-20 is a gas density sensor's powerful microprocessor that uses complex virial equations to calculate the current gas density from pressure and temperature. Pressure changes due to thermal effects are compensated for by this and do not affect the output value.
■MODBUS® fieldbus
The RS-485 interface communicates using the MODBUS® RTU protocol. The GD-20 model can be freely configured from the factory for any defined gas mixture consisting of SF6, N2, CF4, O2, CO2, 3M™ Novec™ 4710, He, Ar. The calculation is based on the partial pressure method of the individual gas components.
■Output signal stability
Due to its long-term stability, the sensor is maintenance-free and does not require recalibration. The sealed welds and the design of the measuring cell without sealing elements ensure a permanently sealed measuring cell. The gas density sensor can also be provided with an analog output signal (4-20mA) to provide a compensated pressure (p at 20 °C [68 °F]).
