■General information
This model GDI-100-D precision digital gas density indicator uses the concept of the analog SF6 gas density indicator, but operates at a higher level that can only be achieved with digital sensor technology. The GDI-100-D combines the accuracy of digital measurement technology with the simplicity of an analog gauge. Its performance, ease of use, and instrument characteristics are incomparable to those of SF6 gas density measurements.
■Temporary monitoring
Switchgear filled with SF6 gas must be monitored for a period of time after maintenance or new installation to prevent gas leaks or poor maintenance. The GDI-100-D allows such temporary monitoring and records the parameters gas density, pressure, and temperature.
■Accuracy
The GDI-100-D is equipped with the high precision sensor technology of the model CPG-1500 Precision Digital Pressure Gauge, which measures SF6 gas density with an accuracy of 0.6%. Built-in evaluation electronics use complex virial equations to calculate density from pressure and temperature parameters. Pressure changes caused by thermal effects are compensated for by this and do not affect the displayed gas density value. With temperature compensation, pressure and gas density can be referenced up to 20°C. Furthermore, all the features of CPG1500 are available along with the features of SF6.
