■Explanation of magnetic float switch
In addition to the various applications of magnetic float switches (model FLS) for vertical installation, HLS for horizontal installation likewise has endless possibilities for monitoring and/or switching of minimum/maximum levels. The float is mounted on a supported pivoting lever and moves with the level of the medium to be measured. A permanent magnet fixed to the end of the lever activates the reed contact (inert gas contact) in the contact tube when a preset switch point is reached.
By using permanent magnets and reed contacts, the switching action is contactless, wear-free, and requires no power supply. The functionality of the magnetic float switch is not affected by foaming, conductivity, steam, bubble formation and vibration. Signal processing is flexible. Direct connection to PLC, NAMUR connection, signal amplifier or contact protection relay is possible. Magnetic float switches are easy to install and maintenance-free, reducing installation, commissioning, and operating costs.
