About This Product
■Product overview
Multipoint thermocouples are often used to measure the temperature profile of a reactor or fuel storage, or to detect so-called "hot spots." The individual measuring points are placed in an external protective tube, either packed or rolled up. Measuring points are placed at different heights depending on the application.
Depending on customer needs, the protective tube is integrated inside the process connection or guide tube for direct installation. The connection terminal or temperature transmitter can be placed in the connection housing, which is either a component of the multipoint thermocouple, or can be mounted separately, for example on the wall or in the pipeline.
These assemblies are used when a temperature profile is required and sensor mass or size is limited. They can be built in a wide variety of configurations to suit specific applications.
For example, traversal capability can be added to multipoint thermocouples in some applications. This allows continuous data to be collected over the entire traverse stroke interval. This feature is useful for gathering important information about catalyst or process activity. These traverse units can be electrically driven with precise position feedback.
