TEFRACTO-PAD® model TC59-T is the first product developed at the WIKA Houston R&D center. It is characterized by reliable precision and ease of installation, taking into account knowledge of the customer's application, needs and requirements. TEFRACTO-PAD® has a unique thermal shield design.

The hot end of the TEFRACTO-PAD® sensor is a mineral insulated cable (sheathed cable) that is installed with a welding pad and optimized heat shield that can be tightly fitted to the outside diameter of the pipe. It consists of a metal sheath containing inorganic insulation cable strands compressed within a high-density ceramic composition. The outer material of the sheath can be selected according to the application. An internal lead wire is welded to one end of the sheathed cable, and the welded measurement point can be selected as insulated (non-grounded) or non-insulated (grounded).
A moldable shield is placed over the thermopad and sheathed cable. This shielding and insulation is a key component of TEFRACTO-PAD®, providing accurate temperature measurements backed by research and testing by our state-of-the-art R&D center.
At one end of the shielded cable, the ends of the bare wire leads are connected and sealed using a sealing compound. The ends of the lead strands form a platform for electrical connections. You can connect cables, plug-in connectors or connector sockets.
■Sensor design
TEFRACTO-PAD® is designed with two main components: a one-step process weld to the tube and a combination of precision. One-step heat shields and weld pads are designed to fit each tube and sensor size.
This innovative sensor is a solution designed for the pipe surface temperature measurement industry and is tailored to your application. The combination of these components allows the TEFRACTO-PAD® design to provide accurate measurement results.
