Thermowells are a key component of any temperature measurement point. Used for the purpose of separating the process from the surrounding environment. Isolating the environment and personnel from corrosive fluids, high-pressure fluids, and flows allows instrument replacement during operation.
There are many variations in thermowell design and materials to suit a variety of applications. The type of process connection and the substructure of the protection tube are important in process design. A basic difference is distinguished between threaded and welded connections thermowells and flanged connections.
Furthermore, it can be differentiated compared to welded type wells. Welded type wells are made by welding the tip of the tube, while hollow type wells are manufactured by hollowing out forged material.
The hollow-out protection tube TW31 is used with lap flanges and is suitable for use with WIKA temperature sensors and thermometers. Its special hard-wearing shell design makes it the first choice in the petrochemical and oil and gas industries.
