■Product description
Bimetallic thermometers with switch contacts are used whenever the process temperature needs to be indicated on site and at the same time a circuit needs to be switched. A switch contact (electrical alarm contact) opens or closes a circuit depending on the position of the pointer on the indicating meter. The switch contacts are adjustable over the entire measuring range. The instrument pointer (actual value pointer) moves freely throughout the scale range, regardless of settings. The settings pointer can be adjusted in the window using a removable adjustment key (attached to the terminal box).
Switch contacts consisting of multiple contacts can also be configured to a single set point. When the actual value pointer moves down beyond the desired setpoint, the contact is actuated. Inductive contacts and electronic contacts are available as switch contacts. Inductive contacts can be used in hazardous areas. Electronic contacts can be used to trigger programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
