■Product description
Temperature switches are commonly used for temperature alarms. It is also used for temperature monitoring of mechanical equipment. For example, turn off the machine if it overheats or turn on the fan to cool the equipment.
■Function
The basis of the WIKA TFS135 temperature switch is a bimetallic construction. Temperature sensing is achieved by bending the bimetallic disc when the Nominal Switching Temperature (NST) is reached. Once cooled to Reset Switching Temperature (RST), the switch returns to its original shape. The reset temperature is usually 15...30°C lower than the switch setting temperature.
■About contact specifications
Model TFS135 bimetallic temperature switch consists of normally closed contacts. When the set temperature is reached, the normally closed contacts (NC = closed in normal state) open the circuit and shut down the machine. Once cooled below the recovery temperature, the contacts return to their original state and the monitored equipment can operate normally again.
