About This Product

■Summary

Gears whose standard rack is a tooth profile composed of a sine curve (hereinafter referred to as sine tooth profile gears), which have been proposed for pump gears for a long time, have a lower slip ratio than involute gears, resulting in less power loss. Therefore, it can be considered that the amount of frictional heat generated during meshing is reduced and the temperature rise of the teeth is also suppressed. From this, we can expect that the drop in the allowable bending stress of the plastic material due to the rise in temperature of the plastic gear will be smaller, and the load capacity of the plastic gear will also be increased. In addition, the meshing of sine tooth gears has a smaller relative curvature at the meshing point than involute gears, and the tooth geometry has a large tooth thickness at the critical cross section, so it is possible to reduce tooth surface contact stress and root bending stress. This can be expected to work favorably in increasing load capacity. For the above reasons, we believe that this tooth profile is effective depending on the application.
